The Competition and Markets Authority’s (CMA) purpose is to help people, businesses and the UK economy by protecting competition and tackling unfair behaviour.

About this consultation

In March 2025, the CMA launched a review of its approach to remedies in merger cases. We listened carefully to feedback from businesses, advisers, academics and other stakeholders.

We are now consulting on proposed changes to our merger remedies guidance (CMA87).

We want to hear from you

We invite you to give feedback on our proposed changes. In particular, we'd like to know if:

  • overall, you think the changes introduced by the draft revised guidance are sufficiently clear and useful
  • any aspects of the draft revised guidance need further clarification or explanation, and why
  • the changes we're proposing are consistent with the CMA's '4Ps framework' and likely to promote pace, predictability, proportionality and engagement in relation to merger remedies
  • you have any other suggestions for additional or revised content
