The Competition and Markets Authority’s (CMA) purpose is to help people, businesses and the UK economy by protecting competition and tackling unfair behaviour.
About this consultation
In March 2025, the CMA launched a review of its approach to remedies in merger cases. We listened carefully to feedback from businesses, advisers, academics and other stakeholders.
We invite you to give feedback on our proposed changes. In particular, we'd like to know if:
overall, you think the changes introduced by the draft revised guidance are sufficiently clear and useful
any aspects of the draft revised guidance need further clarification or explanation, and why
the changes we're proposing are consistent with the CMA's '4Ps framework' and likely to promote pace, predictability, proportionality and engagement in relation to merger remedies
you have any other suggestions for additional or revised content
We will intend to publish your response. Consider whether it includes any confidential information that, if published, could:
significantly harm you or your organisation
be against the public interest
If your response includes confidential information, submit a non-confidential version too. We may ask why you think the information is confidential.
Remove or redact all personal data from your non-confidential response, and from any other documents you submit.
Your personal data
Any personal data you provide to us through CMA Connect (such as your name and contact details) will be handled in accordance with our obligations under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Our personal information charter sets out the standards you can expect from us when we collect, use or share personal data and provides details of your rights in relation to that personal data and how to contact us.
