Registration for this event will close Friday 14 March 2025.

Who can attend

This workshop is open to app developers with an app on an app store in the UK.

About the event

The CMA is investigating whether to designate Apple and Google as having strategic market status (SMS) in the provision of mobile ecosystem services including their mobile operating systems, native app distribution platforms and mobile browsers and browser engines. The CMA is also considering potential interventions that could be made to address existing and future potential harms arising from any position of SMS, if established.

This workshop is designed to enable parties to express their views and perspectives on:

  • key drivers for innovation and investment in app development in the UK

  • any current barriers to developing new apps or app features for use on mobile devices

  • what measures may be needed to overcome any such barriers

Parties interested in attending this workshop should complete the expression of interest form below by Friday 14 March 2025. The CMA will be in touch to confirm your attendance.

A summary note of the workshop will be published on the case pages for Apple and Google. The summary note will not name, or attribute statements to, attendees.
