Welcome to the Competition and Markets Authority's public consultation and events hub

<p>The Competition and Markets Authority&#39;s (CMA) purpose is to help people, businesses and the UK economy by protecting competition and tackling unfair behaviour.</p><hr><h2>About this consultation</h2><p>The CMA is consulting on guidance relating to the exercise of our new information gathering powers under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 which are relevant to our road fuel monitoring function, including:</p><ul><li>who the CMA will request information from</li><li>how information should be provided to the CMA</li><li>how often this information will be requested </li></ul><hr><h2>We want to hear from you</h2><p>The CMA welcomes views from stakeholders, such as: </p><ul><li>retailers or trade associations</li><li>motoring / consumer groups </li></ul><p>On considerations relating to the information gathering approach for our road fuels monitoring function. </p><p>The information stakeholders provide in response to this consultation will help inform our guidance to road fuel retailers who will be subject to information requests. </p><hr><h2>Responding to our consultation</h2><p>Send your responses, including any supporting evidence or examples where possible, by email to: <a href="mailto:roadfuel.remedies@cma.gov.uk">roadfuel.remedies@cma.gov.uk</a></p><hr><p>If your response contains any information that you regard as sensitive and that you would not wish to be published, please provide a non-confidential version for publication on our website which omits that material and which explains why you regard it as sensitive at the same time.</p><p><a class="external" data-fr-linked="true" href="mailto:CMA4draft@cma.gov.uk"></a></p><h2>What happens next</h2><p>Following this consultation, we will publish clear guidance for retailers who are required to submit information to the CMA to facilitate our monitoring function.
